What we consume is what we reflect.

I welcome my September! With great anticipation.

Some say August slipped away, but for me, it’s been a roller coaster. August brought many new experiences—some I had hoped for, and others I never imagined I was capable of.

I had to say goodbye to loved ones, and was blessed with opportunities that I didn’t know how to embrace, perceive, or even let go of. It was beautiful, unforgettable, and at times, sorrowful and despairing.

I have loved and also let go. All of this happened in the blink of a month. Is 31 days enough to find and lose, to end and begin anew?

Well, that was my August. I pray for a September filled with charm, calm, and blessings.

Always in good time.

I believe that sometimes, we can still enjoy something, even if with the minimum passion for it.

Anyways, during the first week of this month, I was down with cold for about a week. Being both busy and unwell, focusing in writing was a challenge, then when I’m back to feeling healthy and happy, I hope to keep up with writing my journal every day, so I try.

Yes writing helps me release what’s heavy inside so I suggest you to find your therapy too.

My life of a regular person:

Each day, I drag myself out of bed at 6 a.m., then spend two hours commuting to work. After nine hours at the office, I face another two-hour journey back home. It’s a tiring routine. So, to make up for the exhaustion, I reward myself with a long sleep on the weekends.

On weekends I would wake up around 10 a.m., wash my clothes, clean the house, and cook. After my lunch, I take some time to rest by reading and lying in bed. Later, that evening I make ‘chicken bujiya’ to save for later in the fridge, as it’s hard to eat without non-veg— being use to non-vegetarian food since my childhood!

Then I take a nice shower. I change into fresh clothes, have dinner. It was an awesome I hope I can keep up with this tradition going because this is exactly what I wanted. But we often ask; is it worth it?

As I was laying on my bed something struck to my mind:

It was the 6th of August, it began as a sad day. Early in the morning, my mom called to tell me that granny had passed away. I felt a deep sense of regret, and the first thought that came to my mind as I was listening to my mom was the time I couldn’t make for a video call with her. It had only been a couple of weeks before granny died when my mom and dad had paid a visit to her. Mom asked if I could video call her, as granny wanted to see me but I was in a rush getting ready for work and told her to visit granny again on Sunday so that I could make the call. However, because of their busy schedules and the funerals in our village, they couldn’t pay a second visit after that. On the 6th, we got the news that she had passed away. It was such a regretful moment. I could feel it deeply, and regret was the only thought that lingered in my mind.

Learning from this bitter and remorse experience, I would definitely change myself for; no matter how busy you are, always make time for your loved ones. The office I rushed to that day didn’t even pay me well, let alone my one-month salary. But what I ended up regretting most was not talking to or video calling granny when she wanted to. She must have felt her last days, and it still brings me to tears when I think about it. She loved me and thought about me, and I even dream of her just the night before she pass away. Yet, I was helpless again—I couldn’t attend her funeral staying out of the state.

Growing up, we’ve heard many motivational stories, often using examples like Steve Jobs. These great personalities have emphasized how important it is to spend time with our love ones. And even though we know this, we often get lost in the chaos of our modern world.

Let’s give 1/10 of our time to our love ones everyday, no matter who you are and what your profession demands.
